I would like to thank everyone who supported out Team for our local Relay For Life event! The Kool and The Gang team had a great time walking, selling cookies, brownies, chips and fruit snacks! Our Starbucks Coffee (Thank you Portland Starbucks!) was a HUGE hit! It makes me proud to say our team raised a combined total of 2196.59!!! And there are even a couple more checks out there so it is well over our $2000 goal we set this year! I am told the entire even raised a little over $60,000 total!
Personally, I found the entire thing to be inspiring. I met many people and heard some incredible stories of courage, faith and strength. I was so happy to share this with my mother in law Barbara, a 13 year survivor.
I encourage all of you to get involved in YOUR local relay for life! Join a committee or a team or support a team or the event by just going there and spending some $$! It’s a good time for a good cause! We look forward to participating again next year and hope to see you there!
